Sweet Secrets Chocolate is pleased to introduce Cole Jurish as this year’s Entrepreneurial Internship recipient. Cole is a freshman at Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin where he is majoring in Business Management and Philosophy. The Entrepreneurial Internship program at Sweet Secrets is an intensive program that focuses on learning how to bring a product from idea to market in a matter of a few short weeks. Consumer research, material acquisition, cost analysis, package design, labeling, manufacturing procedures, and marketing are all covered while working on an actual product. Special attention is given to the logistics of launching a new product in multiple distribution channels. The internship culminates with the selection of an organization to which a portion of the product’s sales is donated.
Cole’s end product, The Sweet Party Pack, features a collection of fun and delicious sweets to make any party a hit. It includes a 9” Chocolate Pretzel Pizza with Smash Mallet, four 8 ounce servings of all time favorite party snacks including gummy bears, cheesy popcorn, bubble gum balls, and malted milk balls. The Sweet Party Pack also comes with four heavy-duty, reusable crumble cups. Crumble cups can be used to serve your snacks, store any leftover pieces of the Chocolate Pretzel Pizza, or filled with your favorite beverage.
“Cole had first-hand access to the target market for optimal consumer research results,” adds Terri Kinney, a partner at Sweet Secrets Chocolate. “The college care gift market is growing quickly, and this product has been built with that market in mind. Something fun and delicious, enough to share with a few friends, a variety of items to enjoy, plus something that is useful after the sweets have been consumed.” The Sweet Party Pack will launch in Fall 2018, just in time for Back to School care packages.
Proceeds from the “Sweet Party Pack” will be given to The One Love Foundation. Founded in 2010 to honor Yeardly Love, OneLove works to ensure everyone understands the difference between a healthy and unhealthy relationship. Knowledge is the key to avoiding tragedies. OneLove has launched educational programs in over 595 colleges and has engaged with over 85 million people through their website, helpline, and grassroots community outreach. “The things you learn outside the classroom can be just as important as what you learn in the classroom,” states Cole. “The increased awareness of harassment and violence among young adults makes the work of groups like OneLove so important.”
